Chicken Momos Recipe:
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the filling:
- 1 pound minced chicken
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
- To make the dough, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl. Add the water and oil and mix with your hands until the dough comes together. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- To make the filling, mix the chicken with the onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, chili sauce, salt, pepper, and cilantro.
- Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball. Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 4 inches in diameter.
- Spoon 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of each circle. Gather the edges of the dough to the center and pinch them together to seal the momo. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
- In a steamer basket, steam the momos over high heat for 12-15 minutes, or until they are fully cooked. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
