Lakshmi Charu Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons of coriander seeds
  • 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons of coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons of red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup of ghee
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice and cook until it is soft and fully cooked. Drain any excess water and set the rice aside.
  2. In a small pan, dry roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, sesame seeds, and black pepper for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. In a blender, grind the roasted spices, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to make a smooth paste.
  4. In a large saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the spice paste and cook for 2-3 minutes or until fragrant.
  5. Add the cooked rice to the saucepan and stir until the rice is evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  6. Add the chopped cilantro to the rice and stir to combine.
  7. Serve the lakshmi charu hot with any main dish of your choice. Enjoy!
