Lakshmi Charu Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 liter of water
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds
- 2 teaspoons of coriander seeds
- 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons of black pepper
- 2 teaspoons of cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons of coriander powder
- 2 teaspoons of red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup of ghee
- 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice and cook until it is soft and fully cooked. Drain any excess water and set the rice aside.
- In a small pan, dry roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, sesame seeds, and black pepper for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a blender, grind the roasted spices, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to make a smooth paste.
- In a large saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the spice paste and cook for 2-3 minutes or until fragrant.
- Add the cooked rice to the saucepan and stir until the rice is evenly coated with the spice mixture.
- Add the chopped cilantro to the rice and stir to combine.
- Serve the lakshmi charu hot with any main dish of your choice. Enjoy!
