Dosa Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup idli rice
- 1 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for cooking
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice and urad dal separately and soak in water for at least 6-8 hours or overnight.
- Drain the rice and urad dal and grind them separately in a blender or food processor. The batter for the rice should be smooth and fluffy, while the batter for the urad dal should be slightly coarser.
- Mix the two batters together and add salt to taste. The batter should be light and fluffy.
- Cover the batter and let it ferment for 8-10 hours or overnight in a warm place.
- Heat a non-stick griddle or tawa over medium heat. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the griddle and spread it evenly to form a thin, circular dosa.
- Drizzle a little oil around the edges and in the center of the dosa.
- Cook until the edges of the dosa begin to crisp and turn golden brown, then flip and cook on the other side for a few seconds.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more dosas.
Serve hot with chutney and sambar. Enjoy!
